Homeless Youth ... not Undisciplined Delinquents

By: Marion Desplenter
March 2023

Every March, the Canadian Association of Business Students raises awareness of and donations for members of society who are at risk of or are currently experiencing homelessness. The funds raised support local shelters and programs that aid the homeless in the local community.

Approximately 40,000 youth across Canada between 13 and 24 years of age have nowhere to call home. They may couch surf, live temporarily with a family member, or take refuge in a church basement, abandoned building, or shelter. Youth make up 20% of the Canadian homeless population.

“Homelessness is not what people think. You don’t choose this life, but it’s a better one than before.” 20-year-old
